Archway Facade Restoration
We used an alkali, stone and brick sympathetic, paint destabiliser and a Therma Tech steam cleaning system. This combination ensures that the paint is removed from the stonework and bricks without causing any degradation to their integrity. After all of the paint was removed we could see the extent of the repairs needed to the Bath stone bay window. It was decided to replace the window sills on the ground floor, the mullions on the ground floor and a carved capital, there were an number of smaller stone replacments undertaken and a significant amount of restoration, mortar repairs. We also re-pointed all stonework and brickwork in a lime rich mortar.
The owners of the property wanted to restore the façade to its original natural brick and restore and repair the bay window.
